Anthony Martial has ‘rejected several new contract offers’ from Manchester United, according to reports in France.
The French winger’s current contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of the season, although United have the option to trigger one additional year.
The club have been working on tying the 22-year-old to a new deal and opened negotiations in the summer.
However, Martial’s agent said back in June that the player wanted to leave the Premier League giants after becoming frustrated with has lack of regular minutes under manager Jose Mourinho.
And now, reports in France have claimed the youngster has rejected United’s efforts to secure his future.
According to RMC Sport, talks between the club and player have been ongoing since the summer, but Martial has so far turned down every offer.
However, the report also claimed United have not given up the chase and will return with a fresh offer ‘in the coming weeks’.
It is unclear whether the club are pursuing a new deal because they see a bright future for Martial in a Red Devils shirt, or they simply want to cover their costs when the time comes to sell him.
With less than a year left on his current deal, United will be desperate not to lose the youngster for a cut-price fee, having recently been hit with an additional payment to Monaco.
A clause agreed at the time of the 22-year-old’s transfer was triggered last week when he scored his 25th league goal in the 3-2 comeback victory over Newcastlehttps://shaddyvibez.com/manchester-united-news-anthony-martial-has-rejected-several-contract-offers-as-he-seeks-to-leave-old-trafford/
