Jose Mourinho has received the backing of Paul Scholes, despite leading Manchester United to defeat against Juventus in their Champions League group game.

Paolo Dybala’s strike in the first half gave the Serie A champions all three points and leaves them just a point off of qualification to the knockout stages.

Mourinho could only watch his side slip to defeat

If Juve are favourites for the greatest prize in European football, then United are embarrassingly far off the benchmark. Although Victor Lindelof and David De Gea impressed at the back for the Red Devils, they were toothless in attack.

However, former United midfielder Scholes has backed the Portugeuese to turn it around at Old Trafford, despite constantly digging him out in the past.

“No I wouldn’t change him (Mourinho).,” Scholes told BT Sport when asked if he would sack the 55-year-old.

“He has the experience to turn it around. The last couple of weeks he’s been different.
