Callum Hudson-Odoi must stay at Chelsea as he is a player the Premier League club needs, according to club legend Paul Canoville.
The 18-year-old’s future has been arguably been the biggest transfer saga in the January window with Bayern Munich very interested in signing Hudson-Odoi.
It has left the boyhood Chelsea fan with a tricky decision on whether to gamble and move to Germany in the hope of getting more first-team opportunities.
However, the Blues have offered their starlet a new contract worth £70,000 a week for the player who has made just nine appearances for the senior team this season.
And Canoville, who played at Stamford Bridge between 1981-86, believes Hudson-Odoi doesn’t really want to leave – but says the club most show the “talented” winger he has a bright future there.
Speaking to talkSPORT’s Jim White, Canoville said: “Hudson-Odoi is a player Chelsea need.
“We NEED that player. I’ve seen the guy play under Jody Morris [Chelsea’s former Under-18 head coach] and he is talented.
