Quintessential urban designer Dapper Dan is really trying to help the iconic brand remain in the game after their overtly racist clothing design, which was a blackface sweater.
Today, the Harlem fashion renaissance figure announced his launch of Gucci Changemakers, ained at aiding up and coming urban clothiers break into mainstream fashion.
The $5 million fund from Gucci is supposed to partner with other not-for-profit organizations around the country in cities like Miami, Atlanta, New York, Washington D.C., Houston and L.A. to ensure its impact.

Others in the Hip Hop community are not so sure about Gucci’s commitment to social change. Notables such as Mysonne, T.I. and Dame Dash have been unwavering in their Anti-Gucci” campaign.
